How To Do It
Sit on a flat bench with your feet straight in front of you, hip width apart, a dumbbell in each hand.
Raise the dumbbells until they are level with your ears. This will be the starting position.
Keeping the left hand still, extend the right elbow to lift the dumbbell straight above your head.
Maintaining control of the weight, slowly lower the right dumbbell to the starting position in line with your ear.
Alternate arms until the desired number of reps have been performed.

Technique
Keep the back in neutral alignment throughout.
Do not lock out the elbows. Keep feet flat on the floor.
Maintain control of the weight when lowering dumbbells.
On the downward movement, do not let dumbbells go lower than shoulder height.
Breathe in on the effort, out on the retraction. |
