JUNIOR SAQ TRAINING

What is SAQ training?

Speed - children enjoy the sensation of running fast. A crucial part of a child’s development is the ability to cover ground efficiently and economically over the first few meters and then open the stride length and increase stride frequency to cover a longer distance.
Agility - the ability to change direction without the loss of balance, co-ordination, strength, speed and body control.  To train agility all these areas need to be practised.
Quickness - when a performer accelerates, a great deal of force has to be generated and transferred through the foot to the ground.  The act of acceleration takes the body from a static position to motion in a fraction of a second.
